Mirtha Mortera
In 1972 she became interested in the world of dog shows through the Setter breeds: Irish, English and Gordon Setters. She co-founded, with her sister Marlene, Moroco Kennels. Being recognized world wide for their breeding in Gordon Setters. She has also owned various breeds such as Boxer, Siberian Husky, English Springer Spaniel, Pointer, Pomeranian, Shi Tzu, Samoyed, German Shepherd, Afghan Hound and French Bulldog.
Her Gordon Setters have been Best in Shows in various countries and in Gordon Setter Specialties in the USA. In Puerto Rico her dogs have been All Breeds Dog of the Year. Ms Mortera also has been awarded Breeder of the Year in several occasions.
Ms Mortera has FCPR license to judge all breeds under FCI rules. She has been a member of The Gordon Setter Club of America, English Setter Association of America, Magnolia Gordon Setter Club, Caribe Kennel Club, Puerto Rico Boxer Club, German Shepherd Club of Puerto Rico, and Federacion Canofila de Puerto Rico, of which she has been on the Board of Directors for more than two decades.
She has judged in multiple all breeds and specialties dog shows in the USA, Puerto Rico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Canada, Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Honduras, El Salvador, Australia, the FCI World Show in 1997 and SICALAM 2013.
